Description

I remember doodling this one, for a few years ago. I randomly found it again hided inside a book, and the first thing that came to my mind was this Draw this again! Meme. It was really fun do this one, I feel like I finally was able to draw what I was trying to create so many years ago.

I must say I love how I failed drawing Pikachu's tail haha! I remember I just drew what came to my mind, and didnt look after any pictures for reference. The mushrooms also seem very random, I think they're inspired by the ones in Super Mario. And the egg-ish creature is I believe a Pokémon, which I dont remember how look like or either its name. All I know is that I kind of recreated everything haha.

The character it self is a OC.

I spend about 40 minutes on sketching + lineart I believe, + 2 hours colouring. Both drawings are made traditionally. The markers that've been used are Copic Sketch Markers, not gonna list up every single name of each colour XD too much work for lazy me, dont think anyone is interested either. YAY!

Second time writing a critique, please bear with me ^___^;;;
We'll start with the originality and idea.
I like the idea of the body being possesed with Nintendo, cause it is addicting! It could also mean that it kinda manipulates your laziness. All though, something is missing..
About technique, I like the hair, but it needs darker shade around the top. Maybe you should also try and construct where the light is going etc. Try drawing a little sun (Just with pencil, you're gonna erase it later) of where you want the light source to come from, and draw from that.
Aside from that, it bugs me how plain it is, you could've maybe zoomed in, bigger is better - in this case. Don't be afraid to draw bigger, it will only leave room for more detail and have more to look at.
Or, you could've added background. This is'nt neccesary always, but in this case I would say it is.
And the mood of the drawing is abit confusing. The faces of the pokémons are showing that the piece is suppose to be happy, and joyful, however the expression of the person looks rather insulted or way too strong. Soften the expression abit with a happy smile, thicker eyebrows or the eyes could've been soothed abit more down.
All in all, you definetly HAVE improved a WHOLE LOT, and you should be proud of that, because you are a great artist, but you still have alot more practice to do, but never give up, because eventually you're gonna be better than everybody! ^w^
Maybe in 2013 we will see a crazy improved Abuchi~ <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt=";P" title="Wink/Razz"/>
